SynC · Topic
These are the standards in the SynC Standards library that cover Metering. Each one is a complete, plain-language specification: the scope it applies to, the requirements that govern it, and a structured equipment datasheet listing the values a project has to decide — ratings, materials, setpoints, and the standards each is verified against. All of it is free to read without an account and published under CC BY-SA 4.0.
A standard usually carries several topics, so most of the entries below also appear under neighbouring subjects. The topics each one carries are listed on its own page.
Flow measurement instrumentation for water/wastewater (WTP/WWTP) and general industrial and process service. Covers the selection, specification, materials, installation, signal output, and calibration of the major closed-pipe and open-channel flow technologies: magnetic (electromagnetic) meters, ultrasonic transit-time and Doppler meters (clamp-on and inline), differential-pressure flow (orifice plate, venturi, and flow nozzle with a paired differential-pressure transmitter), Coriolis mass meters, vortex shedding meters, and open-channel flumes and weirs measured with a secondary level sensor. Addresses application-based technology selection (clean versus dirty or solids-laden fluid, conductivity, accuracy, turndown), straight-run upstream/downstream piping requirements, liner and electrode materials, full-pipe verification, hazardous-area ratings, signal output (4-20 mA/HART, pulse, and digital network), and totalizer and calibration requirements.
