Precast Concrete

Factory-cast concrete elements erected on site.

Standards1

These are the standards in SynC Standards that cover Precast Concrete. Each one is a complete, plain-language specification: the scope it applies to, the requirements that govern it, and a structured equipment datasheet listing the values a project has to decide, with the standards each is verified against. All of it is written and maintained by SynC, free to read without an account, and published under CC BY 4.0.

A standard usually carries several topics, so most of the entries below also appear under neighbouring subjects. The topics each one carries are listed on its own page.

Standards

  • Precast Concrete

Plant-fabricated precast and prestressed (pretensioned) concrete for buildings, including structural precast — columns, beams, spandrels, double-tees, hollow-core plank, solid and insulated wall panels, stair and landing units — and architectural precast cladding panels with specified exposed finishes. Covers concrete and release-strength requirements, pretensioned and conventionally reinforced production, connection hardware and embedded plates, architectural finishes (form liner, exposed aggregate, acid-etch, sandblast), PCI plant certification and quality control, product and erection tolerances, bearing pads, grouting, joint sealant coordination, erection, and patching. Applicable to commercial, institutional, industrial, parking, and multi-family buildings.
