Standards130

Topics are a second way through the library, crossing the discipline folders rather than repeating them. A discipline says where a standard is filed; a topic says what it is about, so one standard usually carries several and a topic usually gathers standards from more than one discipline. Medium-voltage switchgear is electrical equipment, outdoor equipment and arc-flash subject matter at once, and each of those is a way someone might arrive at it.

The vocabulary is curated rather than open: topics are drawn from a platform-managed list so the same subject is named the same way everywhere, instead of splitting across whatever each author happened to type. Every topic below is attached to at least one standard in the library as it stands today — nothing here is an empty shelf.
