PROJECT TOOLS · FOR OWNERS & OPERATORS

Issue once.
See everywhere.

Standardize your requirements across projects, publish one revision everyone bids against, and keep a full record of who received it. A PDF is untraceable the moment it’s forwarded — here you can see the whole chain, from your general contractor through their subs, distributors, suppliers, and manufacturers.

A distribution record for Building 400 showing who holds the issued revision and at what role — from the general contractor through its subcontractor, the distributor, and the manufacturer.

PART 1 — GENERAL

Where the record breaks down

1.01

Each project’s requirements start from the last project’s, modified a little at a time. With no clear line between the narrative and the job-specific choices, conflicts accumulate for years — and no one engineer ever reads every line again.

1.02

Once a spec leaves your office it scatters into forwarded PDFs, and you lose track of who is actually reading which version.

1.03

What works — or fails — in the field rarely makes it back into the next project’s requirements.

The requirements aren’t the problem. The paperwork is.

PART 2 — PRODUCTS

What owners get

2.01

Standardize across projects

Adopt community-vetted SynC standards or build your company library once and reuse it on every project. Customizations are scoped, so your master standards stay clean.

2.02

Auditable revisions

Make changes in a draft, then publish an immutable revision. What you issued, when, and to whom stays on the record — and every revision carries a fingerprint anyone can check.

2.03

Share and see where it went

Issue share links with explicit roles, expirations, and a stated purpose. When a contractor forwards to a sub, you see the chain — not a black hole.

2.04

Roles that fit the team

Assign Viewer, Editor, or Admin at the company or project level. Internal company notes stay internal even when you share externally.

2.05

Run the project by conversation

Ask the AI to research a requirement, summarize where the project stands, or draft a revision. It carries the exact access your account has — nothing more.

2.06

Notifications, not email chains

Get told when a share link is accepted, a comment lands, or a revision publishes. Choose the events that matter and mute the rest.

2.07

Your data, exportable

Export any project — or just the datasheets you need — as structured data your procurement and BIM tools read directly. No lock-in.

PART 3 — EXECUTION

From standard to issued-for-construction

  1. STEP 01

    Standardize

Adopt SynC standards or your company library into a project draft, and tailor only where this job differs.

  2. STEP 02

    Publish

Cut an immutable, fingerprinted revision when the set is ready. The full history is preserved from the start.

  3. STEP 03

    Distribute and track

Share by link with explicit roles and watch the distribution chain grow, one accept at a time.

OPEN LIBRARY

Help shape what the library includes

Owners and operators see things no one else does: which decisions hold up after handover, which trade-off saved budget at design but cost five times more in operations, which “standard” detail nobody actually uses. That knowledge usually lives in a senior staffer’s head and retires with them. Contribute it to the wiki — or sponsor team members who want to — and put it where the next specification will reach for it.

Adopted SynC standards are released under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0). The library belongs to no one and is usable by anyone. You decide whether your attribution appears on a public profile or stays under a pseudonym.

PART 4 — ON THE ROADMAP

What we’re building next

IN PROGRESS

Cost & lead-time alerts

Get flagged when a spec selection is likely to inflate budget or push out delivery, based on aggregated vendor data. The comment plumbing exists today; the market-data layer is in active development.

PLANNED

Email notifications

In-app notifications work today. Email delivery for the same events, with per-event preferences and digesting, is next.

IN PROGRESS

Construction document management

Drawings, submittals, and RFI workflows alongside the specs. Basic file upload is live; the structured workflow comes next.
