How do I join an existing company?

What happens when a standard is updated?

When a new revision of a standard is published — whether it's a SynC wiki standard, a company standard, or one of your personal standards — your projects don't pick it up automatically. The specification side (the standard's structure in your project) and the datasheet side (your filled-in values) move to the new revision together, and the datasheet upgrade tool walks you through merging your prior selections and resolving any conflicts before applying.

Can I undo a published revision?

No. Published project revisions, adopted wiki revisions, and standard revisions are append-only — a permanent record of the work at that point in time. To correct something, make the change and publish a new revision.

Who can see my projects?

Only users with an assigned role at the project, company, or site level can view a project. To give someone outside the project access — say, to a published revision for review — use the distribution feature: it creates a share link with the granular permissions you choose, optionally lets recipients forward the link, and tracks every access so you can see exactly who opened it and when.

How does the AI Assistant handle my data?

The AI Assistant can read any project you have access to and the standards associated with those projects — it never sees content outside your existing permissions. Conversations are not stored after the session ends. Integrations you authorize get access based on the permissions you grant them. What is the difference between a standard, a specification, and a datasheet?

A standard is a master template you can import into a project. Standards can live in three places: the open SynC wiki (maintained by the community — contributors write, moderators review, adopters publish), your company's library, or your personal library. When you import a standard into a project, two pieces are created: a specification (your project's copy of the standard's structure) and a datasheet (the values you fill in). The specification and datasheet move together when you upgrade to a new revision. "Specification" is also the common construction-industry term.

How do I give someone access to my project?

A project admin or owner creates a distribution token (share link) for the people you want to give access to. When you create it, you set what the recipients can do (read, comment, and so on), how long the access lives, who specifically can use it, and whether they can forward the link to others. Every use is tracked so you can see exactly who opened what and when. For permanent team-wide membership, your company administrator assigns roles at the company or site level.

What export formats are available?

Two paths today: published project revisions can be exported as JSON (compact or with full element metadata), and the integrations feature lets you authorize external tools, AI agents, or scripts to read site data directly with the permissions you grant. PDF and CSV exports are on the roadmap — let your administrator know if you need a specific format.
