Getting started

Five steps from a new account to a published revision.

  1. 01

    Create your account

Create an account and verify your email address. You can't sign in until it is verified.

Then complete your profile with your name and what you do. That is how your team recognizes you on a project.

  2. 02

    Join or create a company

Projects on SynC belong to a company. From your Dashboard, search for the company you work for and send a join request, or create one. A one-person company is fine if you work alone.

A company admin approves join requests. If you create the company, you are its admin and hold its first seat. You can read anything shared with you without a company.

  3. 03

    Create your first project

A project holds the specifications and datasheets for one job. Creating one requires a seat at your company.

Open Projects, create a project and name it for the job. Then add standards to it from the libraries you can see: the open SynC Standards wiki, your company's library and your own.

  4. 04

Tailor the specifications and fill in the datasheets

Each standard you add becomes a specification, the project's copy of its clauses, which you tailor to the job.

Create a datasheet for each scope of work and fill in its values. Where a value belongs on the drawings or with the project engineer, mark it deferred; it goes on the coordination checklist until it is settled.

  5. 05

    Comment, then publish

Comment on a specification or a datasheet where a question arises, and mark the comment resolved once it is settled. When the project is ready to issue, publish a revision.

A published revision is sealed. Send it with a share link, and the access record shows who accepted it and when. To correct it, publish the next revision.
